Project Management/Estimating Intern

Job purpose
The Estimating Intern will support the project management team with administrative and operational
duties as assigned.

Duties and responsibilities
• Search and review bidding opportunities
• Review plans and specifications to determine the scope of the work required for the project.
• Complete accurate takeoffs utilizing software and hand takeoff quantities for various aspects of each project.
• Solicit quotes from subcontractors and material suppliers for bid preparation and final numbers.
• Construct bids by adding activities (work to be completed), crews and equipment, adjusting production rates.
• Reviews bid with estimator or project manager. Create bid proposals
• Attend project meetings.
• Prepare pre-job documents for the field crews
• Assist in Project Management duties including production tracking, look ahead schedules, billing
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
• Minimum of 1-year education working toward completion of bachelor s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar discipline.
• At least 1 summer of construction work experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers and supervisor.
• Ability to read, comprehend and act on simple instructions.
• Ability to respond to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude

Working Conditions
