Safety Coordinator Job Responsibilities:
- 20% - 30% travel may be required
- Assists, plans, and implements safety procedures and policies in compliance with government rules and regulations including OSHA and DOT
- Advises the safety director on compliance concerns and preventative actions
- Delivers and facilitates structured safety, environmental, and regulatory training and development programs and initiatives in support of the company’s training plan, objectives, and brand essence
- Provides coaching, and reinforcement of Health & Safety policy and procedures in cooperation with the Safety department to Team Members throughout the organization
- Performs administrative duties to track the completion of training, scheduling of classes and resources, compile and prepare statistical information on training program status
- Position will require the candidate to have the flexibility to conduct training sessions in the field in varying environments to support the needs of the various groups this position will support
- Ensure Tri-State Drilling core Safety standards and processes are embedded into the training plans wherever possible
- Collaborates with management to develop site safety plans and serve as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management. Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
Work is typically M-F with the majority of the time spent in an office setting. Willingness to travel 20% - 30% of the time to engage, coach, train, and provide safety and environmental oversight to teams in the west coast, upper mid-west, and east-coast divisions. Safety Coordinator Qualifications / Skills:
- 4-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related safety degree
- Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations
- 3 years of experience as an Safety Coordinator or similar role (preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of legislation and procedures
- Experience with writing policies and procedures for health, safety, and environmental
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Proficient in MS Office
- Working knowledge of safety management information system

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- BSc/BA in safety management or a similar field OR 4 years of work-related experience (preferred)
- Associates degree OR 2 years of work-related experience
- Certificate in occupational health and safety
- 3 -5 years of safety experience in a construction environment. (preferred)
